    About Us

    This website is owned and operated by Robert Emslie, 25 Queen Street, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland AB42 1TN.  We are completely dedicated to your total satisfaction, most of our new customers are recommended to us by existing customers. We understand we have to provide an exceptional level of knowledge and support on what we sell to retain customers, so that's what we give you! We are not just a new "dotcom" company set up recently, but an established trading organisation dating back over 30 years!     Trading Terms  Making a Contract with us
    When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received your order.  Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will update our site and e-mail you advising the item has been dispatched and any tracking information that is available or exceptionally, a reason for any delay.  Payment from you will have been processes by "WorldPay" this includes "PayPal" when you placed the order, this will be cancelled if we are unable to accept the order.  You will be advise at the earliest opportunity using the email or contact details you have provided.  In the event that the goods are no longer available, unacceptable delay in availability or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. You will not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order or advice of dispatch, and there will be No Contract between us.  Our site is in English and we delivery to the UK.

    Returning Goods

    Cancellation and returns

    This policy does not apply to the following goods, which are exempt from the right to cancel:  Goods made to special order. Items engraved sized or otherwise altered to you specification. Except exceptionally where there is a fault with the customization.

    You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery. To do this, please e-mail us or write to us.

    You do not have to give any reason for cancellation.  However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

    If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense. 1 You must ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage.  If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them, and we will charge you the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

    This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights — for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed

    A return can be accepted up to 14days from the date we dispatch the goods before provided the following condition are observed.

    Inform us within 7day of receipt that you are to returning the items. Goods are sent by a method which ensures they are with us within 14 days from original delivery date.

    Quote the order reference number for this item on your return note along with your name and address. ALL the product, documents the original box and internal packing are returned undamaged.  (Excluding Gift wrap paper) Packed safely and dispatch by carrier or post office fully insured. 

    You should insured the parcel to the invoice value as you will be responsible for the safe return of the item/s

    Faulty goods

    If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights. 

    Changes to these terms  These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to future orders.

    Delivery

    In the UK will normally be by Royal Mail 1st class "Recorded" or Royal Mail "Special Delivery" next day or parcel postal service in 2 / 3 days.  Cost is shown in final Payment pages and are £3.50 or FREE if spending over £25. These prices are a provisional estimate and may be subject to change which will be advised and subject to your acceptance. Overseas by International Registered mail.  Prices estimated on the Webb Checkout are provisional.  Any extra costs will be advised and confirmed acceptable before dispatch.

    Taxes & Import Duty

    VAT "Value Added Tax" at the current UK rate of 20% will be added to the total price of an order when delivery is being made within the EU "European Union". Orders outside the EU may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country/region. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country/region to country/region; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from this site, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country/region in which you are receiving the goods. If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly.  Royal Mail have minimum time before they will instigate any chase on a parcel.

    WEEE recycling policy

    If you’re buying a new electrical item, we will recycle your old one for free

    Please do not throw electrical equipment (including those items marked with this symbol) in your bin. This is because:

    • Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste.
    • Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment.
    • If we do not recycle electrical items they will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

    The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. In the UK, distributors including retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by offering all customers buying new electrical equipment free take-back of their old electrical items on a like-for-like basis in our stores. Unwanted items should be returned within 28 days of purchasing your new product. If you purchased online please return to Robert Emslie, 25 Queen Street, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. AB421TN enclosing a copy of order or other information to identify yourself and the product we supplier.

    To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with a crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.

    Under the Waste Battery Regulations, The-Jeweller.com is now offering a take back scheme for portable waste batteries for the type we supplied. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises in person (PLEASE DO NOT POST).

    Aberdeenshire Urban Battery Bag

    Household batteries can be put in the battery bag. If any of your items are too big for this receptacle, please take them to a recycling centre or point.

    Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points.
